'On The Tee With A.J. Ali' 36-Hole Golf Marathon & Happy Hour Presented by Champps Americana

CHAMPPS RESTAURANT AND MARATHON OF MIRACLES PARTNER TO RAISE FUNDS AND AWARENESS FOR CANCER WELLNESS PROGRAMS

Columbia, MD -- Champps Americana at The Mall in Columbia, Maryland Presents the inaugural "On the Tee with A.J. Ali" 36-hole Golf Marathon Event at Fairway Hills Golf Course followed by a True Champion's Happy Hour Monday, September 14th, 2009 to benefit the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) and the Marathon of Miracles cancer wellness organization (www.marathonofmiracles.org).

Participate in one or more ways:

GOLF 36 HOLES AND RAISE PLEDGES
Sign up as one of 10 golfers to join writer/producer A.J. Ali and Champps GM Vince Cassino on the links for a 36-hole golf marathon at Fairway Hills Golf Course. Golfers will receive 36-holes of golf, cart, range balls, a dozen Dixon Earth golf balls, 1st Tee and 10th Tee energy bars, dinner and beverages at Champps after golf and assorted tee gifts. Golfers will also win prizes for best score, best dressed, most money raised, long drive, closest to the pin and putting contest. Sponsors are invited to participate by golfing or financially supporting their favorite golfer and donating tee gifts, prizes, food and beverages to the 12 golfers.

HAPPY HOUR
The True Champion's Happy Hour event from 4 to 7 pm following golf will be a party celebrating the release of a book by A.J. Ali and Vera Jones titled "The True Champion's 30-Day Challenge." The book is a faith-based holistic wellness and inspirational book using sports stories and healthy action steps to help people take their game of life to another level. The Happy Hour is open to the public and the co-authors will be on hand to autograph copies of the book. Net proceeds from book sales at the event benefit the two cancer charities. Sponsors are invited to participate by promoting the Happy Hour, bringing teams of people to participate (win a prize for best dressed team!) and donating door prizes or services such as seated massage or entertainment. There are opportunities for a limited number of corporate sponsors to set up table displays at the Happy Hour event for $500.

RAFFLE
Go into Champps restaurant at The Mall in Columbia, MD anytime between August 20th and September 14th and purchase raffle tickets for $10 each and receive your choice of a free gift: a Champps Sweeps Card (random value of $3 to $30) or a sleeve of Dixon Earth eco-friendly golf balls. The drawing for grand prizes will take place at the Happy Hour event September 14th. Winners need not be present to win, but prizes need to be picked up at the restaurant by September 18th.

Raffle prizes include:
- The Ultimate Golf Bag including a complete set of Sweet Wood Golf hickory shafted irons and putter, with Bobby Jones driver, hybrid and wedge, two-dozen Dixon Earth high performance eco-friendly golf balls, and a beautifully crafted golf bag. The $3,000 retail value set will be on display at Champps.
- A $1,000 Howard County shopping spree featuring gift certificates from a variety of local businesses.
- A $250 gift card to Champps.
- Cases of Dixon Earth golf balls and other prizes from local and national sponsors.
Sponsors are invited to participate by donating raffle items.

SILENT AUCTION
There will be a dozen items available to bid on in a silent auction at the Happy Hour event. Sponsors are invited to donate items or gift certificates valued at $100 or more.
