Pandora's Box Opened in the Gulf
My view on The Pandora's Box Disaster:
The oil disaster in the Gulf is epic. They've opened Pandora's Box and they don't know how to shut it. Check this out from Wikipedia: In Greek mythology, Pandora's box is the large jar carried by Pandora that, when opened by her, unleashed many terrible things on mankind... The original Greek word used was pithos, which is a large jar. It was used for storage of wine, oil and other things. Oil? Well, these greedy fools have found their oil, haven't they? And now Pandora is unleashing millions of gallons worth of it. "Drill Baby Drill" should be called "Kill Baby Kill." Why, when there are so many great ways of generating power through solar, wind and other clean means that DON'T have such savage "side effects" don't they focus on cleaner, safer ways of getting energy? Maybe because WE don't stand up and say we're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore. Well, you should be mad and you should be getting involved and you should be proactive in this because it will affect you in one way or another. This is not a Gulf problem. This is America's Chernobyl and it will affect us all. It's not just about gas prices. It's about food availability and pricing, total economic disaster for a major region of our country (which means it'll affect the entire country), wildlife destroyed, cancer rates rising and much more. The worst thing that can happen if a solar panel goes bad is that you have to replace it. The worst thing that can happen from a windmill is it falls over and you have to prop it back up. Oil is being pushed on us like crack to a crackhead. They're not only putting it into our cars. It's in genetically modified food, it's in our lotions and sunscreens and other stuff that it shouldn't be in. It's time we all went on oil detox and demanded cleaner, safer energy and less reliance on oil, foreign or otherwise.
